I have studio one artist 2.6.2 installed on a 32 bit laptop. My new 64 bit desktop is scheduled to arrive in a week or so. Can I upgrade from artist 32 bit on laptop to 64 bit version on desktop with the same product key? I would like to keep an installation on the laptop for simple mobile work at gigs and at the cottage on weekends. My intention is to use the 64 bit desktop version in the home studio for more serious recording, mixing and mastering. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Randy

I do believe that you should have 5 activations
So that shouldn't be any problem what so ever installing on two computers

Hey Saga. Thanks for the fast reply but I was already aware of the 5 activations.
My question was more specifically:
Can one be 32 bit and one 64 bit from the same product key?
Can I upgrade from Artist to Professional on my 32 bit laptop then activate the second instance at 64 bit on the new computer when it comes?
I would like to upgrade as soon as possible to take advantage of the "June sale" on upgrades but I don't want to have to pay for a whole new product key if the 32 bit version can not be activated at 64 bit on the new computer.
Has anyone else gone through this experience?
Thanks in advance.

Hey again Randy

You should indeed be able to - It is exactly like with Artist, where you can download both 32 and 64 bit
where the same key activates both

Just with the new key for the Pro versions ofcourse

Hey Saga
I will order the upgrade later today unless I hear from someone else that has experienced a problem with my planned approach.
Others please chime in.
Thanks
Randy

Your "planned approach" is a very common thing. A lot of people use both 32 and 64 bit versions of S1.
