I realize from the technical spec that both Studiolive mixers' main outputs have an exceptionally high output impedance of 10k ohms. Does it tends to cause any problem in terms of loading and impedance matching with power amps? Typical input impedance from active speakers like the Mackie SRM are only 20k ohm which only doubles that of the SLs.

I have not heard of any problems. There are some who feel the output of the SL is "low" compared to other gear they have used, but they perform well and to typical pro specs AFAIK. Some of those who have remarked on that later discovered "the little knob" on the back panel, and are now happy.

I know I haven't heard anyone complain of altered frequency response characteristics, nor of any distortion due to impedance mismatch or loading effects (and I think I'd remember discussions of that topic cause I'm the kind of geek that is interested in that kind of thing).

Judy got my SL16 today The output trim seems doing the job fine. No obvious frequent alteration. However some of the push buttons are quite unresponsive. Gotta press hard to make it work...

Overall a very satisfactory purchase!!

If you're having button problems I'd think your board might have some problems. I've yet to use one that wasn't pretty easy.

However, the buttons are based on military spec components and I've personally used a sledgehammer to change a brake assembly on a 200 million dollar airlifter. Might just need to break in a little.

Test it out for a couple days and see if it softens up a bit and if not send it back for a replacement.
