hi,

I'm totally new to studio one. I have just bought AudioBox 44SL bundled with Studio one 2 - Artist. I managed to create a drum track using my keyboard. I also created a grand piano track using the same keyboard with reverb effects. All this went well using the normal record icon for each track. But everytime I try to add a audio track I cannot record it. I can monitor it and I can hear and see that there is input comming thru to Studio one, but when I record there is nothing. Also what seems strange is that I cant click on the record icon on the track to prepare it for reocding. It does not turn red as the midi tracks does, it just enables the monitor mode (which is set to follow the record mode).

Any idears?

I have installed "Audiobox 44 VSL" (driver version 2.18.0.5534, firmware 1.05) and I have installed Studio one (version 2.5.2.2225.
I'm running Windows 7 SP1 with latest updates.

Thanks in advance.

MIDI is what you successfully recorded.. and thats harder!
Audio... you have on each channel, an input and output tab to assign your I/O for that channel. You must first go into your options and create your I/O settings... what interface you have and all its inputs and outputs... you create your mono and stereo inputs and outputs... some audio is mono some is stereo so you need both... the 44 has 4 inputs mono or 2 stereo... so set em up that way... make a mono I/O and a stereo I/O for them... 1/2 is a pair 3/4 is the other pair. Keep in mind the 1/2 pair is mic/Instrument ... meaning guitar level... the second is mic/line meaning +4 line level... depends on your source!
now back in the DAW mixer you see all this on each tracks input and output tabs...

after you get all this go back the the Studio One Start page and see that it also has preset templates for most Presonus devices already set up and ready to go... you still need your I/O set up tho... but start with a 44 VSL template and create and save your own starting points so you stay consistent.

Thanks for the tips. Makes good sence and helped me to understand som fundamentals. Regarding my recording problem, somehow it helped to have a good nights sleep! When I started the system up this morning to test out you tips, everything was suddenly working!! So my guess would be that the system needed a reboot to work.

Regards
