I have a Fire Studio project. I want to run my vocals mics, Roland drum set, line six guitar amp and beranger bass Vamp directly into it to record. I'm coming out of the fire studio thru the general outs to a 12 channel mixer then out to a PA. I cant seem to get the path straight. The audio shows up in fire studio interface fine but comes out in different places no mater what I do. mic 4 comes out on channel one on the mixer etc,etc... I cant get 1 thru 8 to come out 1 thru 8 on the mixer. Help!
Studio One Pro, Roland TD8 V Drums, Presonus Fire Studio Project, Windows 7 (64 bit), 3.8 dual core.

From Presonus lit:

The FireStudio Project also includes the FireControl mixer/router a 18x10 DSP mixer/router for flexible mixing and direct routing any input to any output including the headphone output, with zero latency. The FireControl software application lives between your FireStudio Project interface and your DAW software enabling the mixing and routing of input streams coming into your FireStudio Studio Project interface and playback stream coming from your DAW software. The FireControl is capable of creating up to five stereo mixes and then routing to the outputs of your FireStudio Project for headphone mixes and various aux sends. This way everyone in the band and the recording engineer can have a custom mix. Also, the FireStudio Project is loaded with internal flash memory so that all FireControl settings are saved and recalled in the FireStudio Project during power off/on. This allows you to configure your FireStudio as a stand-alone device, without being connected to a computer for uses such as a submixer, A/D and D/A-converter, headphone mixer, format converter, instrument or microphone pre-amplifier!

Thank you Cristofe. I read this post previously and it didn't seem to help.... at first! I have revisited my set up with a new attitude and found a crossed wire or two. Funny thing about a 6 input, 1/4" TS, color coated snake is that some mischievous person can switch the colored bands around!

My question is how do I set up the wiring to hear the mix from the 5th mix in universal control, which is the s/pdif out 9 – 10? Do I run a digital audio cable from s/pdif out? Also if there are only 5 mixes, how can I run 6 mixes into hp 60? Sorry if my question is very basic, the manual gives me no info on this.

You don't.

Do I run a digital audio cable from s/pdif out?

There is no such thing as "digital audio cable" unless you're talking about ADAT optical cables. The SPDIF out on your unit is a standard RCA jack and standard rca audio cables are used to carry this signal. If you want to HEAR it you'll need a device that can convert the signal to analog.

Also if there are only 5 mixes, how can I run 6 mixes into hp 60?

You've just answered your own question. You can't create a 6th mix out of nothing. You can, however, use a splitting cable to send one of the five mixes,(except the SPDIF mix), to the HP60's sixth input.
