Hello.

I am thinking of getting Studio One 2 and building my own computer, but I´m unsure what system to get. I have seen a lot of probmlems in my days with other DAW:s and I know you generally have to go BIG in order to make the harder projects.

Im going to be running a workstation, possibly with 4-8 cores of CPU and a lot of RAM and a dedicated SSD for all things. My question is more regarding what platform to run.

1. Is AMD:s new lines (AMD FX-9370 BE 8-CORE or OPTERON) as good as they seem? Has anyone tried these for Studio One 2?

2. Will I get more out of a "real core" than a Hyper Threading Virtual Core from intel? Hard question to answer, naturally.

What I am looking for is real world results first of course, but I will take any insight you can give me.

Thanks upfront.

Love the demo, hoping to be a new user soon.

AMD has performed like a champ for me - I would expect no less of the new line.
Look at the intel 'haswell' processors as well.

I've had good luck with AMD's as well.....I would not recommend either Haswell or Ivy Bridge Intel processors as there
are known issues with them and some audio interfaces.

HP 6005 Pro AMD Athalon X2 B24 3.0Ghz Processor, 4GB RAM Win8 Pro
HP Compaq NC6320 Laptop Intel Core2Duo 2.0Ghz Processor 3GB RAM Win7 Ult
Dell Latitude E4310 Laptop Intel i5 2.67Ghz Processor 4GB RAM Win7 Pro x32

Audio Interfaces: Terratec EWS88MT PCI (2), Audiobox 1818VSL USB & FP10 Firewire, Steinberg MI4 USB, Line 6 Toneport GX & PodXT, Roland GS-10, NI Rig Kontrol 3
