We recently (within 2 months of this post) went from an older analog mixer to the 24.4.2AI at our church and have been very impressed with all of its capabilities so far. Our favorite features have got to be the iPad remote control, and the ability to save and recall scenes. However, the scenes are coarse (saving everything), and I was wondering if there was any way to save only specific channels?
For example: We have 4-5 main musical groups (~30 individuals total) on rotation, and many of those group members will occasionally sing/play with the other groups. I know I can recall a specific channel from a scene (IF I know who is on which channel), but I feel there should be a way to create a member library with each person’s settings saved individually. This would make creating a set out of any of the available members super simple – just drag and drop John on to channel 1, Michelle onto channel 2, Stephanie onto channel 3, etc. (also applies to the 4-5 different acoustic guitars we regularly have to adjust for)
It seems like, if this doesn't exist, it would be fairly simple to implement in a firmware revision (or even software for the connected computer?)
You can accomplish the channel part by saving each member of the worship team under the fat channel tab and then just drag and drop to the respective channels. It won't do anything for aux levels though, but I've found that those change week to week anyways depending on the musicians and song selection anyways.
Great! I was too hung up on the scene capabilities to think outside the box! Thanks, I'll give this a try!
Will this be visible/manageable from the Universal Control program, or is this strictly managed on the board?
Both. You just can't recall individual Fat Channel presets from the iPad (at least on the non-AI version which is what we are using).
We've even gone as far as creating different presets for each acoustic guitar (3 of them) that our main guitarist uses depending on his mood that week.
