2 Firestudio Projects
1 studio one artist (planning on purchasing the upgrade soon)
Windows 7 64bit PC

I have 11 vocal microphones that I want to record with.

I know how to link them together via Firewire cables. Patch them into my computer for Studio one.

Can and how do I make it able that i can hear all 11 voices thur my studio monitors. WHILE RECORDING

I plug and create tracks for mics 1-8 with the first unit and 9-11 on the second unit.

I have my studio monitors plugged into the main outputs of the first unit (lower serial number)

I think I am missing a simple setting, somewhere.

thanks in advance.

There's a thread on here somewhere about using the spdif out/in to get a MIX from one to the other, but you can't get individual tracks from one to the other without doing your monitor mixes in Studio One. You lose Zero Latency functionality but you have all inputs available for the headphone mixes. Then it's all about your computer's specs and how low you can get the latency.

The FireWire allows both of them to communicate with the computer. It does not allow them to communicate with each other.

If you need the inputs from one device at the outputs of another, you need to route them there yourself. You can either do this in your DAW, with SPDIF, or manually patching one to the other. None of these will give you "Zero Latency". As far as I know, there is no way to do it without using one of these methods, and SPDIF may be the only one that comes close to Zero Latency.
