Hi
I recently upgraded to windows 7 from xp and reinstalled studio one professional. I am now getting a intermittent consistent popping/crackling sound in speakers and headphones. It is not a cable or speaker issue.
Any thoughts . I have been an anologue dude forever and am not at all computer savy.
thanks,
mike

Hard to say without knowing what other gear you have, but on first look check the buffersize. If you are processing a lot of tracks with a lot of effects, your cpu may be struggling to keep up.

Yep, hard to know what to suggest.
For better help in the future, create a signature block with your gear info at the bottom like matthew and I.

I'd bet your audio device driver has changed from XP to Win 7.
Look for an updated one on the website of your audio device.

Also go to

Control Panel -> System -> Advance system settings

Then under "performance" click "settings"

Then hit the "Advance Tab"

Then select "Back ground services"

Windows regards streaming Audio as a background service. This often fixes what you are describing.
