I've been pretty happy with my new SL32AI.
But now I have a scary issue. Last week I was setting up for a special event at our church and during the afternoon soundcheck I needed to shut the system down. When I brought it back up, it looked different until I realized that everything had reset to "0" all the fat channel setting for all the channels was flat. All the mix sends to Auxes & Subs were gone, actually anything was gone. WOW!, my heart stopped!.... I thought I had inadvertantly done it myself........ UNTIL TONIGHT!!!!. My second Sound Engineer just called and told me that it had done it again. Now I'm really nervous. The thing is, this board is only 3 weeks old and already a major issue. Thank God I saved last Sunday's scene which the engineer was able to recall and continue with rehersal. The Firmware v4834 as seen in the LCD under Systems, is there a differnet "build" that is needed to make me current?. This is a real bummer, how many of you out there have had this happen?.
I guess a "Support Tick" is in order.

The restore was done from the board. The Mixer seems to be able to retain the saved Pre-Sets I created, either a scene or a single channel. So I restored the scene I saved and then restored each of the channels I created in Pre-sets. Question? Is there a "build" attached to the version that is not listed on the site?. I really haven't downloaded the v4834 from the site yet because I saw that it was already listed in the system screen on the Mixer. That's why I'm inquiring about a "build".
I have had my board freeze a couple times; it becomes unresponsive, the buttons don't work, can't adjust fader/volumes/sends at all. I had to power it off and when it came back on it was zeroed out.
Look for driver updates that will hopefully solve these issues...

Best connectivity Express card/firewire 2 port (400) that does NOT suggest having the TI chipset. (always worked great)
BYTECC Express card (400/800)07150358281
Asus/AMD processor tower. This setups just works on all firewire devices.
Belkin N450 dual band router, works with SL and Ai mixers

GTMusic: I'm two months late, but I'll mention that many others have had this including myself. When it hits, its not always consistently one part of the board. It is a known issue that I reported back in December.
2795: AI mixers lose autosaved state and revert to default settings (zero out)
Some users have seen AI mixers randomly losing their autosaved state and reverting to the
default settings after a power cycle. It does not affect Scene or Preset memory. It only
affects the last state of the mixer before powering off.
I've seen many different sections of my board zero out including:
* Mutes (but not faders)
* Faders and mutes
* Phantom power settings
* Wifi settings
The issue is when the board is automatically saving things every few seconds and the system is powered off during that save process.
My workaround is to always keep quick scene #1 as my "default" set of settings and regularly overwrite it manually if I need to change a setting permanently. I've never had scenes get overridden. Loading a scene doesn't take care of everything though. The rest of my workaround is as follows:
* Document all phantom power settings. These aren't loaded from scenes.
* Document your scene load settings. These can get reset by the bug. Note that faders aren't scene-loaded by default, but pots are. I enable scene load for faders, and disable scene load for pots.
* Document most anything else in the system menu such as sampling rate, sub delays, etc.
Its a pain. You don't have to convince me of that I assure you.

We had many issues with our board in the first year. Very similar to yours it would freeze up from time to time and need restarting. As time went on and we continued to update firmware it got worse. At one point it froze up three time in a three hour period. Having to be reset and restored because it zeroed itself out when coming back on. We use Qmix a lot and it as well became very unstable.
We did everything , even firmware recovery multiple times. On day we notice the two issues seemed to be related. So wondering about possible router issues we looked online to see if presonus now recommended a router. When we purchased the board they did not that we could find. We were using a belkin router and found that now did have recommendations and they did not recommend belkin. We replaced it with the airport extreem they recommended on this web site. 99 percent of all our issues seem to disappear overnight. So far we have had no other issues with the board.
