Well, if you could, or wouldn't mind I think it's most safe to uninstall everything GR and re-install the original version that came with S1. Try getting that to work, if so, then you can re-install version 4, which should take the original location.

Found something regarding Komplete 7, which might be related on the NI forums.
No solution though.
i have the same problem after upgrading to Komplete 7 on my window 7 64bit, Cubase 5 64bit system. During the Komplete 7 installation, it was fine. But when i tried to update Reaktor 5.5 and i get this error message,
"The Folder path "#$*&ksd" contains an invalid character.

Yes, always walking through the whole install routine and then the installer says "Installing NI Service Center" and then this "inivalid character" message appears.
edit:
Well, it REALLY seems to be an NI issue then. Merde!

But if SC isn't installed the plugin might still work if it's correctly installed. Maybe install GR 3 untill the error and then install GR 4? Don't forget to check the location and rename the dll.

I have seen this "Invalid Character" warning if the destination drive has a strange or different name. Try installing it on a different drive and see what happens, just for grins.

lol.... That's true. But maybe there's a strange space or character in one of the folder names or something silly like that. Maybe try creating a folder on C:\ called Music and just direct the application there.
Really this is all just a guess but it's what I did for someone having a similar issue and somehow it worked.
So, ew pointed me to a little windpws tool After running this I was able to install GR 3 LE on my system - I pointed the install location to that "Vstplugin" folder I created in the S1 program path.
Success?
NO! Hhhmmmmpppfff!
S1A doesn't recognize GR3LE. That's not very satisfying.
