Am I the only one that hates the "COMEDY" feel of Presonus' website?

It comes with the territory. IMO the best audio hardware and software comes from companies where the developers and management are actual musicians too. And when you're dealing with musicians...you know how that goes.

Seriously, I worked for a company where it went from being about the music to being all about the corporate image and bottom line and oddly enough both the product and the bottom line suffered.

Enjoy the humor and most importantly make some music.

I got their 16 ton DVD collection, I always got to get the right frame of mind to watch them, the silliness factor is through the roof with those guys my friend.

by the way, great analogy my friend.

There's seems to be a lot of implication here that, just because we don't like some aspects of the website, that it somehow equates to not having a sense of humor. I don't think that's a valid assumption. I recognize a few names here from other forums and I know that many of them do indeed have a sense of humor. I myself am quite hilarious. No, really. Case in point

Got to thinking ( Dangerous, I know ), why not create a "Dummy Site" for those hip and trendy client's that would be potentially scared off by our site. You could misspell Presonus so they would not know the difference. I know this will be a lot of work at first but you wouldn't have to rely on those ancient and outdated guys at Presonus to get up to speed and get you those "Special" clients my friend.

I defend Presonus' comic angle. I think serious people suck and if you've heard of "If they can't take a joke, fuck 'em" that's my motto.

Here's another example of an upstanding company dabbling in a bit of humor for their customers.

i rather prefer it actually, to the faceless corporate "blah" everywhere else. it lends some personality and character.
as with all things, that particular personality or character may not suit everyone, in the same way that the usual bland, "designed in the boardroom"-style identity is a real turnoff to me...
Some people are like slinkies. They don't have a purpose, but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

LOL (I'm a recovering smoker of 50 a day)

And I agree that humour on the website is not necessarily a bad thing.

Hope you guys chill out a bit. It's nothing more than a rational & constructive discussion, related to a company that makes a fine DAW and hardware...

This world could use a bit more humor, indeed. That people want there iOS devices to work with these sites is understandable, and perhaps the flash content is another annoying problem for mobile users. One size could fit all if someone wants to compromise. Humor, however, should not be of such a distraction so as to be forgetting that business is business- and I don't think Presonus has gone that far, yet. Anyway, there will always be something that can be criticized, sometimes with necessity, and other times, because this is what people do.

On other forums, I wish there was more humor, because of the nasty and rude commentary taking place.

Here's my weighing in on some of what's been discussed here:

1. You don't like the flash banner on the main site or the pic at the top of the forum? Then allow me to introduce you to my good friend AdBlock Plus.

2. Can't view a website on your mobile phone or iPad? Thats a "first-world problem", right there.

3. A client asks if you have Pro Tools? They may as well be asking, "if I play as terribly as I want, can you spend a few hours editing a decent take out of it?" Surely any serious musician would know that performance matters over choice of software.

Finally, somebody with a deeper understanding of these issues... Thanks for your input.

So what you're saying is that Pro Tools has a "Turd Polisher" plugin?

No, that's not what I'm saying...
