1. Get your snare sound where you like it.

2. If you can afford one get a beyer m201 and an old shure sm98 (Not a beta 98!)

3. Take the sm98 and the beyer 201 and align the capsules then tape them together.

The beyer gets the body of the snare and the sm98 gets the top end.

I can change my snare tone from song to song just by blending the two mics together.
