Hey guys, I recently bought a new laptop (Lenovo Y510P) and it's a great laptop. The only problem is that I get terrible crackling noises when I'm playing back, recording or monitoring tracks. I'm using the Audiobox 1818VSL. I've read in previous forum posts that it's a poblem that all Ivy Bridge / Haswell proccessors using USB 3.0 have. Then solutions were suggested, such as disabling Intel's USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller / xHCI pre - boot thingy in the BIOS setup - where it would make my USB 3.0 ports act like USB 2.0. The problem that I have is that I do not have that options to disable xHCI in my BIOS. There is also no 'Advanced BIOS settings' option for me to open up and explore.
Then I found that if I open up my device manager, and go under 'Universal Serial Bus controllers', I found Intel's USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller there. I went on to disable it, hoping that it would work. However, my USB ports just ended up not working at all. I plugged in devices and it would detect nothing.
What do I do guys? Please help. It's really disappointing that I can't use my Audiobox 1818VSL anymore. It's definitely too late to return it. I'm stuck with it, and I need it to work. Desperately. It's also extremely disappointing that Presonus has been aware of this issue for so long, and yet, has not done anything to fix it. No new driver updates, no nothing. They are basically ignoring this topic.
Please help guys. I really need this.

MANY interfaces from MANY audio manufacturers are having compatibility issues with BOTH late model PC's AND Macs. Is this the fault of the small audio companies OR is it the fault of Intel & Apple for not adhering to industry standards and/or not caring about our little niche market? Yes, my 1818 did not work properly with the computer I originally intended to use it with. So what did I do? Ok, yes I whined about it a bit. I thought about losing money and re-selling it on eBay. But now, a year later am I STILL whining? No, I bought a used machine for under $100 to use with my 1818 and it works flawlessly.

So it seems. However the link for the latest release wasn't posted on the 1818VSL downloads page. And reading the replease notes, the 1818VSL still has known issues. But I will definitely try this release and see how it goes.
