I want to use the firestudio 2626 without connecting through firewire to my pc.
Do the inputs 1-8 come out of ADAT outputs 1-8 when used as a stand alone mixer or does this have to be routed through firewire??

Hey,
I shot you a response to your PM. I don't have the 2626 but from what I could tell from the manual I think it should work. Just make sure you have something providing a clock source. I don't the think the 2626 can be a source if it isn't running from firewire.

The patching you set up in the Control Panel before you disconnect the unit is the patching you'll get when you disconnect it. (i.e. if you patch inputs 1-8 to ADAT 1 output before you power down, this will work). However, be advised that the FireStudio reverts to master clock as soon as you power it off, so you should use it as the clock source master.
