I'm thinking of upgrading to OS X Mavericks while the up grade is free. Has it been presenting any problems with MacBook Pro or ipad ? Is there anything special that needs to be donewith this upgrade and are there any benefits to the upgrade ?
Thanks !

I'm leaving my old white Macbook at Mountain Lion because it's working well with my SL 16.4.2, and I don't want to risk changing that! I'll probably leave it there until I'm forced to change it, even if it means paying for the future Mac OS X upgrade.
My newer (non-music) laptop is at Mavericks now. I probably didn't need to upgrade it, but I wanted to see what's new. And of course then I needed to deal with consequential 3rd-party product upgrades and a need to find and reinstall those products' license files.
The biggest Mavericks change that I remember dealt with multiple monitors: I have a Cinema Display above the laptop. Mavericks treats the two displays more independently than Mountain Lion did. I'm glad that I upgraded the non-music laptop, and I see no reason currently to upgrade the music laptop.
