Hello,

I am trying to use the Smaart integrated software with my 16.4.2 to eq my room. I go to run the analyzer, can see the 4 band eq but can't adjust the slope of the curves. There is no adjustments for 4 band eqs, just an on/off button for each. I see in the youtube video Presonus made that they had one box for turning on each 4 band eq but also another line for sliding how narrow or wide the eq curve was.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cyg-UEjWlSo&list=PL7e9uWqucI6uZa0NxYjQMhb2k7RT9EGjE&index=23

Any ideas as to how I can get the slider adjustments to show up? Thanks.

Thanks very much! Do you know if the 24.4.2 has to be the AI version or do the standard 24.4.2 have the feature? Thanks again.

It does not have to be the AI. The standard SL24 or first model has the ability to adjust the Q on the VSL.

If you want to adjust your Q on the 16 - use the HI-Q on the console to see if it makes any difference. It isn't in the VSL software as you noticed so walk up to your console and engage the HI-Q manually. Give it a try.

Consider this: For studio room tuning - you may want to use acoustic treatment to tame the response before grabbing the EQ. If you have treated the room acoustically - then go for the EQ and see what happens by smoothing out the response.

Yes, SMAART runs across the entire SL platform in one shape or another. You DON"T use the graphic Eq you use the PEQ...

The Tutorials are everywhere... and this site has plenty. I would ask that you go to the Knowledge base and look through the SL family help threads there, because there is SO much more you are missing...also check out the Videos...

I have the SL 16.4.2 and the SMAART wizard doesn't EQUALIZE the room, that cannot be done... PERIOD other than with a bulldozer.

What you are doing is taking the ROOM out of the equation by modifying how the speakers react with the room.

As an exercise I would ask that you do a keyword search..."Studio Live SMAART"

you'll get at LEAST 10 pages of responses...and video's... see what you can find, if not we will be here to point you in the right direction.

Best regards

Yep... Smaart is "System EQ" not Room EQ as Gadget stated... and it is best in your home studio to do some work on room reflections, diffusers and maybe bass traps.. I would do some reading in this regard before you start chasing your tail with an EQ... there is a ton of info out there and products and info on making diffusers and bass traps etc...

Used the Smaart room analysis the other day to dial in our mains with great results. I wasn't able to get the Aux sends to work. I kept getting a message saying volume was not loud enough or check mic connection. Tested connection and also cranked volume with no luck on multiple aux monitors. Any idea why I could mains to work but not aux sends? Thanks.

Sorry not to clarify, mic was in front of aux monitor by about 4 feet. Ran from aux sends on 24.4.2. The mic was plugged into mic talk back. 12 oclock position on volume of talkback. Aux sends turned up to unity. Plenty noise coming through. Ran Smaart wizard and selected Aux 1, didn't work and then tried Aux 2 with no luck, same message that signal wasn't loud enough, check connections, etc. Thanks.

Try putting the measurement mic into a channel and verifying that it actually works before you plug it into the talkback input. If it does, you may need to reload your mixer drivers and try again...
