I recently got a new laptop(Dell Inspiron) and an Audibox USB bundle for Christmas. I installed all of the Presonus software perfectly fine, but when I go to install the Audiobox driver it fails everytime. I put the CD in that originally came with it, and start the installation process, but everytime it gets close to the end of finishing it tells me that I need to plug in the Audiobox USB. Yet, everytime I connect the Audibox to my USB port, a message pops up on my screen saying that the device is unrecognizable. This is getting very frustrating because this is a brand new laptop. Im not very technologically advanced whatsoever, so if I could receive some clear help that would be greatly appreciated!
Hi,
We need your computer specs... including processor, speed, ports, OS all that....Look at my signature line and you'll see what kind of info is required to see if we can help...
Hopefully your not using a new intel ivy bridge processor and only USB 3.0 ports....

Best connectivity Express card/firewire 2 port (400) that does NOT suggest having the TI chipset. (always worked great)
BYTECC Express card (400/800)07150358281
Asus/AMD processor tower. This setups just works on all firewire devices.
Belkin N450 dual band router, works with SL and Ai mixers
Studiolive 16:4:2
SL Ai24.4.2
ABUSB 1818VSL
Faderport
USB pre interface
Studio one Pro V2
LABsubs
loads of audio, and studio gear, and audiophile sound gear (gearslut)
DO NOT PLUG THE AB USB IN DURING THE INSTALLATION PROCESS!
When you have the download, instal the drivers without the AB USB hooked up. When prompted to do so, plug in the device and finish the process...
Best regards

Is this a new AB USB? if so you might have a bad one... start a tech ticket right away...

Hardware Controllers: JL Cooper CS-10 Control Surface, Yamaha EZ-EG, Dillion Les Paul style acoustic electric guitar with Roland GK-3 pickup and GI-20 converter.
The Rest: Guitars, Amps, Stompboxes, Mics, Outboard Gear, VST plugins...too much to list!
i bought it about 6 months ago and then got grounded. so its been in my possession for awhile, just barely strarted trying to hook this thing up about two weeks ago.
Any other suggestions? im open to anything, i just really want to get this up and running.
i also have another laptop, but the cd drive does not work, and i cant figure out how to connect my external disk drive.
I finally got my Audiobox USB to work after 2 weeks of hassling. I found out that the USB connector cable that I was given was faulty. The problem I am now faced with, is my microphone. When I go to record tracks the Mic is making a high-pitch noise, almost like it's resonating. If any of you could give me suggestions to this problem it would greatly appreciated!
