I'm researching a new vocal mic for a female voice. Going by advertised frequency response the NT1 and the TLM 102 show the flattest sound from low to upper mid. The C214 starts to rise in the mids from 1k down and the NT1-A has a bump around 100. I'm looking to spend under $700 and leaning toward the NT1 or the TLM 102. Any thoughts on this?

Anyone have side by side comparison of any of these or used the TLM 102?

I think they are all great mics. If you had a way to try them with the singer in question, one might come to the foreground as suiting the singer the best, but I'd think you'd be pretty happy with any of them. I love the Neuman and AKG sounds, but many of the Rodes have really impressed me, too.

I wish there was someone around close or a music store with that type of selection. Advertised response of the NT1 and the TLM 102 are very similar. With the C214's rise in the low-mid it was a little to dark. I searched and listened to all the samples I could find. Buying the NT1 I could afford the NT1-A also. I think the combination with what I already have will do pretty well.
