I'm getting real bad static and garbled sound usually when i first start up my computer and the Firestudio Mobile. I notice it on the first preamp/input because that is the one i keep my guitar plugged into. When i turn the preamp volume knob i get static as i'm turning it. Earlier today when i turned everything on i was getting no sound at all, period. It seems that if i give it a while or mess with my Universal Control buffer size it starts working ok again. I always go back to my normal buffer size when i do this - it just seems that changing it, then changing back fixes the problem after a minute or two. I never have sync issues - the blue light always stays on. I am using older drivers (4.0.0.14255 5451). Could that be the problem? My FS Mobile is a little less than a year old and i never noticed this problem until a few months ago. My firewire card is compatible and on the list. i am using it with a desktop so it does stay on for long periods of time (never longer than 12-14 hours at a time). This is an inconsistent problem. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to be annoying and it's starting to worry me.

Wow, no responses after almost a month. I'm really disappointed in the FireStudio Mobile. It's probably the worst audio interface i've ever had as far as stability is concerned - and i've had more than a few over the past twenty years. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers and it's even worse now. I was able to play my VST amp sim plugins "live" before at 128 buffer size with no crackles/static - just the initial problems i stated in my first post which would go away. Now i can't even play @ 512 buffer size (way too high latency for guitar playing anyway) without bad crackles/static and it doesn't go away. It's totally useless for me now. I've made absolutely no changes to my system and can't understand why this is happening. DPC Latency Checker shows absolutely no problems. My firewire card is on the comapatible list and never goes out of sync. Is my unit just screwed up?

Happening to me as well. Presonus suggests I uninstall my UV driver (1.7.2), do a factory reset of the board, and install UV 1.71 driver. I run a 24.4.2

Very frustrated!
