Hi, I know Mavericks just came out yesterday but the knowledgebase claims that there are no known compatibility issues with it. However, ever since upgrading, I can't get steady audio output through mine - the playback is very juddery and it sounds like there's a buffering problem or the like. Just to be sure I upgraded my software to the latest, checked the firmware version, and did a factory reset, and also tried all four safe modes (low latency, normal, safe mode 1, safe mode 2) in Universal Control.

Any ideas for anything else I should try?

The version of UC I downloaded from the site claimed to be 1.7.1, although the "about UC" dialog box still shows it as 1.6.5460, and Driver version 4.0.0.14255.

Huh, this is strange... audio in Logic Pro X and iTunes are just fine. It was only Quicktime Player that was having problems, and it may have just been particular to the file I was playing (even though the sound was just fine in my internal speakers). Oh well, I think I can live with that.

It's glitchy for me too in quicktime and also when I'm listening to an embedded soundcloudtrack in a forum. But it is only glitchy when I listen in 44.1khz, changing to 48khz makes the sound play normal.

I'm having this issue as well, but it seems to be isolated to Quicktime X.
MPlayerX and Quicktime 7 player work fine.
In safari, I get the same playback issues with HTML 5 based players.
Embedded Quicktime players seem to work ok.

Not sure what the real cause is . . . annoying though.
Luckily Logic X and my other DAW software work fine

Im having the same issue. Bought a new macbook pro with the Haswell processor, migrated all my information DAW etc. Sound is glitchy and poppy from itunes, ableton, all sound going through my VSL22. the worst part is you can't downgrade these new macbooks to mountain lion (which i would gladly do), because of the new haswell chips not having the same driver compatibility as the older macbooks.

Ok guys i might have a solution. I fixed my glitchy sound issues by resetting the PRAM on my mac. Do it by holding command option P and R while booting. The system will boot a second time and it should work. Worked for me.

Hey did you install the Mac OSx drivers from the Presonus site before reseting the PRAM? Or did you just do it using the native OSx sound for the Audiobox? Having the same problem here

I'm having problems as well. Tried PRAM, everything is updated. Logic Pro X works fine.

I've seemed to fix it by checking the "prevent app nap" box in the "get info" page. Everything seems to be back to normal.

I 've got the same issues only with Quicktime player 10.3 and Safari playback with HTML 5 based players.
Sound is awful at Sample rate 44.1. But when you turn to 48hz it becomes glitchy only.

iTunes 11.1.3 and VLC 2.1.2 works perfectly whatever the sample rate

Driver ver. is 4.1.3

I am experiencing the stuttering problem with Quicktime Player ... is there any fix?

Changing to Safe Mode in Universal Control doesn't seem to help at all ...

Have you tried any other video playback programs?

Other players work for me. Seems to be primarily a Quicktime issue, at the moment. I have a feeling it will get sorted out fairly quickly, but I wouldn't bet the farm on the strength of my ability to prognosticate, though.

The issue is a Firewire one that came with Mavericks. Check the WEB and you'll find users of all different brands of firewire interfaces with the same Quick Time issue. If you play the same file through your internal sound card it should sound fine. From what I read it may not get fixed any time soon because Apple and Quick Time are pointing fingers at each other.
