Hi out there
I'm working for a non-professional theater-group, who makes open-air productions. All actors are usually equipped with a headset. Up to now, we've rented those, but would like to invest in that. Which headsets can you recommend? Very important beside the sound is the adjustability to different sizes (since also kids are involved from time to time) and also the way of wearing, because the actors sometimes are doing wild scenes. As wireless system we'd like to buy sennheiser ew100 or ew300 systems.
Thanks for any help.
We are glad to perform with:
SL 24.4.2
MBP 17"
iPad2
QMix (on several iPhones)
2 x KS-Audio CPD12 (Front)
2 x KS-Audio CPD1 (delay)
10 x KS-Audio CL208 (monitors)

Of course, a lot is going to depend on your budget, but I've used a lot of these: http://elitecoreaudio.com/product/retail/hs-09-earset-headworn-microphone

You can get them with cables to mate about any major brand of wireless, including Sennheiser. As a bonus, they come with a spare earset to transmitter cable.

Little, little kids are sometimes a problem as their ears are so small. I've thought about using a drywall screw to hold it in place, but the parents protested.

Hi Josjor
Thanks for your reply. Looks really good to me and the price is o.k. Do you know of any other types, especially shorter ones. Actors with smaller heads will have this mic in front of their mouth. Thanks again.

Audio-technica makes a nice little one that I've used, but it's a good chunk of change: http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/05e1d0d52ac0fade/index.html

I am not very fond of headsets for only one earside.
Will loose easely, and are not adjustable as most of the two-ear ones.

Good examples are the Sennheiser and DPA ones.

Expensive, but very reliable! Will last long!
