I've noticed that ever since I've updated to 2.6 (latest release, 2.6.0.24200), the transport area will not show all of the controls, even when in full-screen mode. The only ones that show are: Return to Zero, Stop, Start, Record, and Loop Active. I cannot get the others (Return to Song Start, Go to Song End, Fast Forward, Fast Rewind) to show. Maybe I'm missing something simple. Any body else having this issue? I was and still am using a laptop with a 16" monitor. I could see all of the controls prior to 2.6.

Looking good here on my MacBook Pro 15".

Thanks for the response Sunmachine. No, I have not changed my screen resolution, but I think you are on to something.

I did notice before version 2.6, that if the window was not set to full-screen mode, those other controls would not be visible, but would become visible if the window was maximized. Now, it doesn't seem to matter if the window is maximized or not; they are not visible.

Maybe someone else could weigh in here. Thanks,

Terry

Transport looks ok on my Win 7 machine. 15" monitor, resolution at 1366x768.

2.6 added some new graphics to the transport bar so whatever they did there apparently put the threshold just outside of your screen width. That's the only thing that really makes sense.

It might be interesting to compare the 2.52 and 2.6 transport graphics with all of the transport controls showing in both to see if 2.6 is a tiny bit wider.

Yes, sounds logical. I'll have to experiment with a different screen resolution to see if I can get the rest of the controls back. Thanks.

Yes - same here - I changed my screen res to 1280 x 1024 and now it's all fairly microscopic! I've not had this problem with other DAWS. I did notice that I'm not running a driver for my video monitor (dell w/ dell computer) if that has any bearing on the situation?

I compared them with screen captures and 2.6 has a really, really, really tiny bit offset to the right. Looks like the big numerical display added another leading digit.in 2.6 But it's so small, the difference, maybe not the cause.

Maybe they just changed how the controls wrap at different resolutions.

Thanks Stratoholic for confirming the same problem, and LMike for doing a screen comparison between 2.5 and 2.6. I also posted this on the Tech Support forum, but does Presonus tech support even read this, or should it be reported in some other way?

a little off topic but isn't it time that Presonus fixed the behaviour with the transport panel that when you left, centre or right align the Strip Silence or Macro Toolbar the Transport panel doesn't follow. I'd like to see them separated. Also how about giving us the option to customise what is displayed on the Transport panel

I think that ^^^ would solve it all permanently, allowing the user to define what is visible or not on the transport bar.

I personally don't much like that the secondary time display disappears at lower resolution. If given the choice I'd choose something else to not show instead, like max recording time or the midi part or even the sample rate. I find the secondary time display more often useful than those things.

Keep hope alive!

No change here Terry. My laptop is 16.8" wide, and at 1920 x 1080, it's showing all controls relatively the same.

As a reference, attached is a sample of a recent 2.5 (top) and 2.6 (bottom) view of the taskbar I took from screenshots. They scaled exactly the same when I captured them, so it should at least allow you to see the new and old versions and what's been altered. They're virtually identical at my display setting. The only modification is obviously the precount control over the metronome. All of the other areas of the taskbar are unchanged

I've also mentioned some FR's for the taskbar, such as detach, alter even to the point of having small docked meters at the sides. I learned the gray blank area varied with other display settings, so I dropped the meter docking request. Still, I'm tossing in a "me too" on customizing the taskbar. We should be able to opt for things like start and end points of the loop bar (in measures or time), viewing, or edit modes, and generally more functionality.

We users sometimes look for every chance we can get to add a good thing when the conversation allows. You might even say we forgot about your problem! (Joking).
Anyway, good luck. Perhaps there's an updated driver you could add to your laptop or some setting you can work with.

The answer to the OP is the remaining time indicator was added. So room has to be made in the transport at certain resolutions. The icons are hidden depending on your screen resolution.

Good thing that I know I have 14 days of record time left on my hard drive... I wish I had the transport shuttle controls instead.
