Green light to add a Mackie Control Universal Pro?

In light of v2.6 rolling out (WOOO HOOOOOOO!!!)

If anyone has an MCU Pro... would you please check the usability of it using the default templates?

I've been looking to add one for a while.. but held back b/c it's reported it didn't work all that well controlling S1.

I don't have one but multiple reports from users here who do confirm that it does in fact work well with the new 2.6 improvements.

I'm also going to re-setup my Automap HUI to see if it syncs better in mixer mode. would be nice to fully utilize Automap finally lol

If MCU works.... I know Mackie will be happy, since i'll be grabbing an MCU asap

Oh yes please, all user with a mackie tool or a controller with mackie protocol please share your experiences in 2.6 version. this would be nice. Thanks.

I have a FW-1884... and now it works worse...

WTF Presonus...??? Might be an oversight, but my main master fader does go to a modest infinity to -24.5db... and will return there no matter what I st my fader to. How to edit/fix the values???

Really? oh wow that sucks. Luckily I have a Tascam preset that was created by a member here which works like a charm with Studio One.

I'm gonna check out MCU Pro with the 2.6 next weekend so will keep you posted about that when I come back.

Lots of extra features to evaluate before I can rate it. At first glance it looks pretty good.

It says that the Function keys can be modified in the device editor but I can't , for the life of me, figure out where.

Of the DAW products I own, I would give the following order of best to worst implementation.

Samplitude Pro X.>Studio One>SONAR X2>Reaper

None of them would I consider unusable but Samp is the most configurable of them all. Although Studio One can't be customized, it's still very close in power to Samp from what I see.

PLEASE DO... i'm very confident right now b/c the new HUI implementation has completely fixed an issue I had with Automap where VST2's could not record automation smoothly.

I think i'm in Heaven. I dont even wanna record... i could just retire right now LMAO.

Big thing I'd like to know here is if you can bank to channel 9-16, 17-24 etc with just one MCU.

The banking is one of the things I'll look into.
I'll give a report when i'm back from the studio in Sweden next weekend.

Hey Dave,

Hope all is well with you.

- If you go into Studio One, Click on Mixer.
- On the left side, click on External button. The External Device column should open which lists all of your external devices.
- Click on the down arrow for control (whatever your MCU name is) and click edit. A popup box should be visible now which shows the "F" buttons.
- Right click an "F" button and left click "Assign Command". This brings up a list of alternate commands that can be assigned to the button.

That is as far as I have got so far. Hope it works out for you.

I just picked up a Mackie MCU Pro and getting ready to download 2.6. Anxious to see how everything works. Does anyone know if there is a template overlay for S1V2. I saw something on one of the other forums but the link doesn't work.

Talk about Humble Pie... Big Apologies to PreSonus! Just replaced my Tascam FW-1884 with another FW-1884 and everything works perfectly now. My FW-1884 (old one) proved to be bad... after d/l a competitor's DAW the same issues arose... time to get back to work! - and get a dust cover. Thanks also to DAW stew for the Tascam def file.
