The Features list on the web site here for the 16.4.2 says
"Studio One Artist Digital Audio Workstation software for Macâ„¢ and PC"

Did it always come with the Studio Live?

I have one on order, should be here the end of this month; can't wait to get it.

And seeings as how this is my first post, I assume an introduction is in order...

I'm a hobbyist when it comes to music. I have a music room with guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and some vocal mics. I borrowed a Tascam DM24 from a friend for a while, but I needed something permanent that would fit in a rack to free up some floor space. Hence the 16.4.2 I have on order.

Looking forward to doing some multitrack recording with my jam buddies. Hoping Studio One is included so I can start assembling some originals.

Thanks in advance. You all can look forward to a barrage of questions from me when it arrives.

Yes Studio One Artist comes with the SL16. If it's not in the box, it is available as a download once you register your studiolive. Also it is best to ignore the driver/capture disc in the box and download the latest release of capture from your user account. Same with the Universal Control/VSL - this is the "driver + user interface".
StudioLive 16.4.2 (Firmware 1.13, Build 159)
Universal Control (Version 1.2.2715, UC Driver Version 3.5.5.10705, SVN:2715)
Capture (Version 1.1.112213, Built on May 4th 2010)
Studio One Pro (Version 1.6.0.13233)

QSC HPR 122i(x2), 153i(x2), 181i(x2)

Macbook Pro early 2009 15.4"

My 16.4.2, purchased 2009, in My Hardware, does not show Studio One as a download. Why would that be ?

I think it originally did not ship with the software. Mine did not include it but a quick email to tech support remedied the situation and they hooked me up. It's actually a really nice program to use with capture files. I have been a Cubase user for years but S1 really has a better workflow for working on our shows. Quite impressive for a new DAW and a company's first foray into complicated software.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply. I've been using Sonar/Cakewalk since the early 90's. But studio one definitely has some features that match it up to the 16.4.2.
