Thanks for the quick reply. I need to be able to have it sync to the adat clock of my master device, so I guess what I'm asking is, can it be synced to another device (via adat or other) while in standalone?

Thanks for the link but try as I may, I CANNOT get the second firestudio to operate standalone via wordclock sync. It works fine when attached to a computer, but not standalone.

I'm trying to utilize a second Firestudio 2626 Standalone (NOT hooked up to a computer), as an 8 channel mic pre via adat synced via BNC wordclock to another Firestudio 2626 hooked up to a computer set to internal clock.

Ok then. Well...AFAIK that should work. Not quite sure why it isn't working for you.....unless you haven't properly configured
your standalone/slave 2626 properly in UC. I don't own a 2626 so this is getting a bit over my head I'll see if I can't get
someone more familiar with this unit to chime in.

Here's what Presonus Tech Support has to say about it:
@Cristofe, the 2626 will not work stand alone as an ADAT converter. It must be synced to the computer via 1394.
It apparently worked when it first came out, however once the firmware went to Universal Control, that feature was removed.
There's no way to reverse Universal Control out of a 2626 once it's been updated and we have no way of reversing them here.
The older driver for 2626 doesn't work on 64-Bit Windows 7, so this is a depracated feature.

It's been a while but I just got a 2626 in today. Now originally the 2626 had these features:
"Also, the FireStudio is loaded with internal flash memory so that all Control Console settings are saved and recalled in the FireStudio during power off/on. This allows you to configure your FireStudio as a stand-alone device, without being connected to a computer for uses such as a submixer, A/D and D/A-converter, headphone mixer, format converter, instrument or microphone pre-amplifier!"
But we know now that:

Seems odd that a firmware "update" would remove so many useful features. Too bad the firmware can't be rolled back. I'm assuming that this unit's firmware has already been exposed to UC and can't be rolled back to FireControl status. I wonder tho, if there isn't someway to find out what version firmware is installed without installing Universal Control v1.2.2715, Driver v3.5.5 - PC.

Yes, all this works fine when synced to a computer. The OP was trying get these features to work in standalone mode...i.e...not connected to a host computer. This will not work.
