I'm considering buying a Studiolive 16.4.2 over the next couple of weeks. I've seen several dealers offering "B" Stock models. It seems that I can save quiet a bit of money but want the opinion of other members that have purchased "B" stock items. Is the reduced cost worth it? Do you still get a warranty? etc.

Thanks

I've never purchased a b-stock StudioLive. But I've bought plenty of other B-Stock gear. Check with the seller to find out the status of the warranty. You can find out the warranty details of a normal SL in the owners manual from the download site.

If the warranty numbers match I'd say go for it. It's either been back to the factory for refurb or checked for functional capability in nearly every B-Stock item I've ever bought.

Mine was a "B-Stock" from Full Compass. An open-box. Full warranty. VERY MINOR cosmetic flaws - a couple of very small scratches. no regrets here. Saved me over $100.

They only have a 90 warranty on B stock products, open box is different from B Stock.

I can confirm that. The warranty is only 90 days. I assume the standard warranty is 1 year. Does Presonus offer any extended warranty programs?

Extended warranties are usually only from the dealers themselves. Wouldn't hurt to ask Presonus in the morning though.

Just an FYI re extended warranties:
If you purchase anything on an AMEX card, American Express automatically extends that product's warranty by one full year after the original product's last year. So, when buying any gear keep that in mind since extended warranties are basically expensive and rip-offs. Also, if you have Visa or Mastercard, call the customer service and ask if they also extend warranties like AMEX. Some do but it's fine print.

I always buy the expensive goodies on our visa card with extended warranty benefits. I think ours doubles the warranty up to some limit.
