Faderport on Sonar X2

I just bought my faderport and its works great except the Pan Knob, i tested it on Cubase LE 5 and it works great, so im thinking that it is the driver that its not working for Sonar X2, probably works for earlier versions of sonar.

My question is, would Presonus check this? or its an issue regarding Cakewalk? I still have 20 days to return it (which I dont want to) But i am a Sonar user, what can I do? IDK gimme the code i can try and fix it, im a developer also.. xD

Hello, Im user of Sonar X2 too, I ve just bought faderport. I spend all day to try fix motor fader problem but without results. For Sonar X2 is no support. So for us is faderport absolutely useless. If you like those nice buttons you can keep it, but... Im very angry, becouse no one from Presonus warning about this compatibility problem. We can try to write to customer centre, but i think it s nothing to do with.

Wow , NOT WORKING IN SONAR X2 , DO NOT BUY THIS FADERPORT PERIOD IF YOU USE ANY VERSION OF SONAR! what a pain in the butt and that's the last thing people who record need! do not buy this thing. My girlfriend got it for me for Christmas now shes bummed out and me. THis controller does not support sonar period and should be stated very clearly by Presonus , very shameful on Presonus behalf. Low tactics.

I managed to make faderport working with sonar x2, after viewing a youtube video.
a) I first installed the drivers downloaded from presonus
http://www.presonus.com/products/FaderPort/downloads

b) executed the update of the firmware

c) copied by hand the driver from the installation folder of presonus
C:\Program Files (x86)\PreSonus\FaderPort\FaderPort Dll\Sonar\x64

to the cakewalk installation folder for surface drivers of sonar X2
D:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces
D:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces

restarted sonar X2 and then as instructed in the youtube video

you can select Presonus Faderport in the surface list under Sonar, it seems to work in full.

my hardware : win7 Professional 64bit , intel core i7, sonar X2

i'm almost forgotten: important is also to execute the registration of the DLL via command line as administrator (as instructed in the youtube video) . by me it worked with
C:\Windows\system32>regsvr32 "D:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces\Fa
derPort.dll"

I've had some issues with Faderport with Logic Pro also.

Yep, it is quite the pain in the @ss but after jumping through some hoops you can get it to work in Sonar X2 & now X3 as well.
