Hey Tarekith. It's nothing fancy, it's Thomanns own design i think, which reminds me that rack arrived to me little bit damaged. I changed the tires too, was pissed off at them

This reminds me, more pics, less yak! (I don't feel like I see enough pics when cruising this)

Nice looking studio!

@rack: I think though that in the states that might be a tough thing to get. Seems like an idea that should be normal though. Simple....effective.

I am making modifications to an old office desk to convert it to more of a studio desk that I see here a lot.

Most importantly, my old eyes can't see knobs and setting on rack gear that are in a rack under my desk and to my left. So I am building a shelf/hutch that will have my monitor on top, my lava lamps (lol), phone etc. Monitors are on their own stands.

Under the shelf, I'm build 4, 4U rack bays so my equipment is eye level and ready to go.

Here is my question. I'm always tweaking my cabling and the desk is not on wheels. Tired of crawling under desk. I was thinking of splitting the shelf top and piano hinging it so I can get easy access to the inputs and out puts.

How do others handle this?

Cool

Curious about your Chandlers. I'm sure they were quite a slice of pie, worth the coin?

It's very personal thing . What are you after with compression? Chandler has very wide palette of sounds, with all compression curves to clean and dirty mode. Germanium drive add as gain, but feedback control gives you kind of 'EQ' to your compression, different setting give you bump in the lows or cut to the highs or both. You can imagine all the sounds you can get out of it . Reason i bought it for my first hardware compressors.

Sometimes the best solutions are right in front of you. Pun intended. I may build a series of 2U-3U desktop racks that can be pushed together as a hutch or moved if needed easily. Thoughts? Silly?

I got this cheeky little space to record in for the next year and a half...I'm not sure if it gets much better than this...
