To AudioBox VSL Community,

AudioBox 22VSL & 44VSL:
We have learned that the incompatibility issue with USB 3.0 on Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9, 10.9.1, and 10.9.2 late model MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac and Mac Pro systems released in late 2013 is an issue with Apple's USB 3.0 device driver. We have tested and confirmed that this distortion issue is resolved with pre-release builds of 10.9.3.

Unfortunately Apple does not disclose release dates, PreSonus does not know when Apple will release it's next update. Until that time arrives, the AudioBox 22VSL and 44VSL can be used as class-compliant devices by not installing the VSL software, using the settings in your DAW to control your I/O, and using Audio MIDI Setup for advanced configurations.

We also learned of a problem of an incompatibility between the 22VSL and 44VSL series on late model PC’s with the Intel USB 3.0 Chipset running with 4th Generation Haswell Intel Processors. We have successfully tested an update for the 22VSL and 44VSL for the Windows platform and expect this release to be made available by the end of April 2014 on the AudioBox VSL download page.

AudioBox 1818VSL:
There remains an incompatibility issue for the AudioBox 1818VSL running with Intel USB 3.0 chipset for both late model Mac computers as well as PCs running the Intel USB 3.0 Chipset with 3rd Generation Ivy Bridge series processors and PCs running 4th Generation Haswell processors.

Our Engineering Team is actively engaged in fixing this issue and we expect to have an update available for both Mac and PC platforms in the coming months. We will be delivering frequent updates on the status in our community forum page here:
