Here I am composing a song, I'm not thinking a a specific style or anything eles. So now I'm done with my song but what genre is it, certainly has a rockish feel to it maybe a little jazz. I like to get it copyrighted and sell it on CDbaby but what do I market as. There are so many different styles and sub genre's, like to get it right. Wouldn't want a Punk in the Jazz section of itunes who would buy it. So where can I take a little bit of my music to get it categorized?

My advice and suggestions should never be considered advice or suggestions. These are mostly insane ramblings of a poor aircraft mechanic who can, strangely enough, still hear.

I'm not sure about your "genre", maybe someone else can help you determine that, but in the United States, as well as many other countries, you have automatic copyright on your work once you finish it. It might be wise to register your copyright though. You should visit the copyright office: http://www.copyright.gov and see this forum post: http://forumsarchive.presonus.com/posts/list/30369.page
