trock,

Are you using the latest drivers from Avid/Euphonix? I think these bring back Mackie Control support. If you are, then I guess the MC Mix is a no go on Studio One V2?

Thanks

Just chiming in to agree. I was just about to become a Studio One convert, but I have a whole set of Eucon controllers (which cost a lot of money!) so can't jump ship to a DAW that doesn't support them. So here's my vote for Eucon control.

way back when this thread started jonathan stated few people had these controllers, well i think at this point a whole lot of people do, and this would make S2 just that much better

even Samp is coming out with it now

wow. This may be one of the most shallow, disappointing threads I've read ever. I had ALMOST fully made the jump from Logic/Performer/Live/Record to almost exclusively "Studio one v2", and had never really set up my Euphonix controllers with it, because it just wasn't intuitive...

Now I know why. After hours of struggling with it last night in a mixing session, I find that it just isn't implemented!

This is as hard to believe as it was when I found out Avid was going to allow all interfaces to work with PRO Tools...

Really, Presonus? Are you guys THIS backwards? I simply cannot understand why, in this day and age, you guys would be so closed minded and alienate so many users.

So this will end my Presonus relation. You guys have a nice life.

Back to PT/Logic/Live for us, sadly. I will miss Studio One, but if Presonus ever "thinks" ahead enough to allow Eucon support, which EVERY other major DAW manufacturer does, then I would definitely go back. Will watch the updates from afar...

Despite understanding your position on this, who's being shallow?

I'd hope Presonus will forget about adding anymore new features until you add support for the main controllers out here..Work with each company until the list is up to par.

thanks

The think that I don't understand, is that someone can go 'S1 is the best DAW i've used by a long shot. I love it.' and then in the same breath go 'but it doesn't use X controller so i'm going to stop using the best DAW i've come across'. That just doesn't make sense. Harden up princesses.

@bdhender

it´s not difficuld to understand. S1 IS a great DAW. No question and the most people knows this and want his. BUT nothing is perfect and it´s a gift for the developer when user shows up the lacks. Or not? And the support of controllers like the Eucon IS a lack in S1. Princesses or not. Some people have the chance for using Pro controller and some people want to use S1 as a Pro DAW. And some people are not happy to use a mouse or the supported "toy"-controller. Please accept the people work differend.

I'm pretty confident that's not going to happen. Controllers are on the the list, just not on top of it.

Just out of curiousity...

Has anybody in this thread even attempted to change a template to make it wrk with their Euphonix controller?

I mean... if you spent that much money, and truly enjoy S1 that much... I'd assume somebody would've taken a stab at this. If you have the will, it's not really that crazy to learn some of the functions and adjust them.

For instance, I had an MAudio Keystation Pro 88 for a few months (before half of the keybed died on me!- piece of sh*t).. and the transport buttons at first didn't work w/ the S1 version I had. What did I do? I did a little bit of research... adjusted the template... and got my transport buttons working perfectly!

As long as S1 has the parameter of your controller.. you CAN get it to work.

I'm asking b/c I see a serious amount of complaining... and not an equal about of probable solutions until S1 has time to write the code for it.

I mean... all it really is is just a template. Anybody w/ a little bit of knowledge can change one to assign each function on their hardware to something in S1. I even changed my freakin Faderport button to open/close a VST instead of open/close the editor.

Phoenix. Jason has said this before several times, but after such a post, the silence is deafening. nobody wants to think. The other thing for presonus is priorities. The number of euphonix users in the S1 camp is prob something like 0.02 %. So what seems like a loud outcry on the forum is only a wimper in the big picture.

You're right.... I remember seeing a thread where a Presonus rep even offered to make a template FOR people! (Perhaps we're talking about the same person... but I can't remember).

Indeed... It was I that had suggested such. I was shot down (not so nicely) for suggesting this to our users. I have since had to prioritize my time to other things (due to a change in job title and department) and can no longer spend work time toying with this or that template in S1.

If I had a Eucon rig, I would have already written a template for it in my spare time on a weekend. Not to ruffle feathers, but its a relatively simple task for
someone who has the hardware and the will to do so, but a nearly impossible one for someone (like myself) who does not have said hardware.

DIY culture wins these battles as long as the DIY'er joins the fight!

See, this is what I don't understand. If you say it's so easy to "Do This Yourself" why the hell can't Presonus do it? I see now that Presonus really has no intention on following or keeping up with other daws because of this controller stuff.

I do truly think that Presonus' stand and your attitude on controllers is completely wrong. If I wasn't such good friends with Johnny I'd most likely move to Reaper, where those 2 guys at least care about controller support.

Trust me Jason, I totally understand your position on this but I still think it's stupid, from a user standpoint.

EZ boy........lol. You and I have talked about this at length. You know I'd still work with you even if you changed DAWs. Controller support is long way off (if at all) for Presonus, I feel. They have a different focus at the moment.

Controller support is something the other DAWs will always have over Studio One. But if you'd borrow my extra Faderport like I offered, you'd find some comfort......lol

But let me be clear folks, I do still agree that the DIY concept is a dangerous angle to hold and will effect sales negatively.

In terms of controller support I remember one of the Presonus guys saying it was important and was a priority.
I'm sure they've read the many threads and posts here that go along the lines of ".....I was going to move to Studio One but its lack of support for controller X means that i won't until it changes". They won't ignore these comments as there are too many of them to simply dismiss.
Dont forget that DAW users will advise there friends who then pass on there comments to other DAW users and so bad reputations stick.
