Lots to choose from and as others have said - although difficult - best to try before you buy since microphonse are so personal to one's voice

Sorry not following your pricing guideline..
I love the Rode NT2000.
(OK it is around US$600)

But
Its "infinitely" variable Polar Patterns, "infinitely" variable Hi Pass, and :"infinitely" variable Pad etc make it a very very versatile Mic. And, like so many Rode Mics, it is a sturdy model that will take a beating.

I've got the shure pg27, love it combined with a sm57 on guitar cabs. I never liked it on vocals, although it's cardioid it seems to pickup alot more room than my other cardioid mics. Got the rode m3 a few months ago and that was nice on acustic guitar but really super on hihats. My first choise on vocals is a sennheiser mk4
