will an american firestudio work in uk?

This may be a stupid question but i was looking at buying an american firestudio, besides the power adapter which i will change, is there anything that will not work in the uk?

I think that yes. I bought a firestudi in the us and use it in portugal. Just changed the plug type.

The transformer will basically make your power the same as US. I'm interested in how it works for you as I'm moving to europe at the end of the year.

Yeah ok i will, mine should arrive in 6-10 days. i'm just trying to find out if a 45w transformer is enough or whether i need a 100w transformer.

If you're just running the SL the a 45 should be just fine. The more you add the more amps you will draw. I'm not an electrician. If you are looking for a definitive answer then GasPipe from the old forums is the man to ask but I don't know if he has crossed over or if he has I don't know what his new name is.

He used to be pretty active in the StudioLive forums. You might try a thread there to get his attention.

My Firestudio arrived today, It took so long because it got held up in customs. Yes my firestudio works fine in uk i didn't need a transormer because the plug type was 110-240v anyway, all i did was change the wall half of the plug to a uk one because i had one lying around anyway

Good to know. Makes me a little less worried as well.
