I've got a StudioLive 16.4.2 with a Toshiba Satellite laptop running capture. (detailed specs below)

I've had problems with Capture recording skipping, choppy and looping sound and also with Capture just stopping recording completely. When it stops completely the levels on the meter bridge will drop off completely, the blue line will pause for about a second, and then the blue line will continue moving, but recording will be stopped (the green play button will be lit, but the red record button is out) I've played around with the various universal control settings: Sample Rate (44.1 & 48 kHz), Safe Mode and Buffer Size. The sample rate doesn't seem to affect the problem. Normal and Safe Mode 1 don't seem to fix it, but Safe Mode 2 or 3 seems to fix it. larger buffer sizes seem to help some, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this or what to look for? I've got nothing other then Universal Control and Capture installed on the laptop, I do all editing and other work on another machine. Thanks in advance for your help!

Laptop:

Mine started doing the same thing the past few times. I'm running Windows 7 on a Lenovo laptop. Just saw another forum where others were having the same problem, but they were all Mac users. One guy found the solution. Said to deselect the firewire monitor button. Haven't tried it on mine yet....but I'm fixing to now!!!
