Hello guys,

I've been writing songs since i was 17. I'm 29 now, and recently this mind keeps getting stronger and stronger: 'It's now or never'

So please take a listen to my stuffs. I'm planning to make an EP this year, and make some release concerts afterwards. I'm searching for the right musicians right now.

Mind you all of these stuffs are coming from my living room, i recorded all instruments (except on the live track). Some of those tracks are pretty old and have awful timing, as i tend to finish a song and to move along.
My voice is not the best one, so many of them have some 'Ouch' moments. But i'm training hard, and i can sing better now. So consider these tracks as sketches. Oh, and I have some other better songs i haven't recorded yet.

What do you guys think? Should i do this? Honestly i'm pretty sure, i'll do it, but it's nice to hear some opinions from other fellow musicians.

Disclaimer : most of these tracks are praise songs, so take it like it is

Much much thanks in advance!

Thanks Palaios, you're one of the guys who always give response here. Very appreciate that!

As you can see all the tracks have very variated genres. From Hard Rock to Funk to Trainbeat. Would you consider it as a problem?
I'm very open minded musically, and never root for one genre. However, i'm wondering, could it be a problem when it comes to making an album?

Ooohhh2,
I enjoyed your songs and styles. You are very creative and play a lovely Mozart piano.

I want to hear your voice up front with just your piano for a verse and then do your rock thing. You need to find a niche and see if you can stick with it for a cd's worth of songs. Then try another style. It will be hard to mix it all together in one cd.

You need a picture of yourself too.

All the best.

Hello Bbd!
Thank you for listening, your compliments and your inputs. And sorry that i had no time to reply the last days.

A mellower song with just my voice and a piano and eventually a cello is actually in the making. It just needs some work on the lyrical side. When you read my introduction in soundcloud, you'll know that neither english or german are my native language. So sometimes i need help from some friends to correct the texts.

I thought my niche are people who care about diversity in music, especially in the christian music scene, since there are not that many christian bands in germany I'm aware of doing that kind of thing, compared to ones from the States for example.

Anyways, i just started the project few days ago with two sessions for the Bass and Drums.
Here is the preview mix of the result, it still needs much work on vocal and guitar though:

Here's how it's been done:

I'll post more in the future about the progresses.

Cheers,

Yonatan

Vintage socks!

I haven't finished listening to your songs yet, but in general I love variety of styles (especially with Christian music). What I heard so far sounds really promising, and I wish you all the best with your project!

As for the German lyrics, the "Textverständlichkeit" in your recordings is a little lacking sometimes. But proof-reading works better than "proof-listening" anyway (for me, that is) - feel free to send me some of your lyrics in written form, and I'll be glad see what I can do (I have a pretty long history in proof-reading all sorts of things).

By the way, I personally agree that it's very hard to write decent lyrics in German ...

Sorry again for slow response.

Thank you very much Kahlbert for your kind words and your offer. I'll definitely send you some of my texts. I also remember your offer to collaborate on mix or mastering some times ago. I'll come back to that, because I realized I need every possible help for this project.

Thank you scorpix74!
No, i've recorded most of them by myself, 90% of them using virtual instruments: Drums, Bass, Keys-
Except the first track which now contains real bass and drums, and the live in Kieler Woche track.

These all should be considered as sketches i've made to capture the idea. I hope as the project goes on I will make better versions of them with some real musicians, and of course better mix.

I also wrote some more songs recently, which eventually will be added to the others.
