What do you think about this option?

If you are editing events on the timeline and you won't overlapping events then turn on the optional "trim contents behind events" feature in the options menu.

In Options/Advanced/Audio there is an option called "Play overlapping events". Then you have this unchecked only the events on top will play. Is this what you mean?

Thats right and its enabled in my setup. But my FR is meant to do a clean cut so that even visually events get cut at the end.

I think LMike put together a macro for this, also.

Yeah, the attached macro works from left to right, when you drop a clip over another going right and want to trim the section behind it. You might have to modify it to go the other way, trim a clip where the overlap is coming from the right instead of the left.

There's a few different ways to approach this though...

P.S. For "trim-behinds" with audio events (doesn't work with midi) where the top clip is laying in the "middle" of the underlying clip, just use X, crossfade.

Hope that helps.
