Try a different USB port?

Are you running through a hub?

Could be that something has jacked the initial setup of the installer.

Head over to the Knowledgebase and grab the instructions for a full removal of the driver and see if that gets you anywhere.

Here you go.

For future the knowledgebase has a search function that can simplify the process of finding things there.

I'm having this exact same problem! My Audiobox was happily working yesterday and today I thought I'd download and install the new drivers (64bit system running Windows Ultimate). After un-installing my current drivers I downloaded the latest drivers (AudioBox USB Driver v1.2.5194) from the downloads page and went through the process of installation after which I was presented with the same problem as the above poster:

(Error : Setup aborted... " Driver could not be installed.

Unplug and replug device. Wait for any system device installers to complete. Then click "Install Driver" to re-install. " )

and nothing, just keeps saying Driver could not be installed! I have tried unplugging and re-plugging into all my other USB ports (6 of them) and I have also gone through the process you have detailed in the knowledgebase several times now.

I am tearing my hair out and I need to have a soundcard to finish mastering some songs for a client a.s.a.p. I can't believe this has happened now, if you could furnish me with a download of the last lot of drivers for the audiobox usb I would be very thankful.

Please help! :-/

Did you install to the default locations? And windows on your default drive?

I'm having the same issue. The original installation CD arrived broken. So I went to the downloads page and downloaded "audiobox". Walked through that installation. I then thought I downloaded the 32 bit driver (just below the audiobox choice) under "legacy software" because that was the driver listed on my installation CD. It didn't seem to install in the same way as the audiobox software. (it downloaded, I double clicked the file and that was it. no progress bar, no requests for action on my part). I cannot seem to get the drivers to load when plugging the usb connection directly into the port (no hub).

I have never seen this before... Step 1 in the uninstall/reinstall link sent by Monolithent was to use the "same USB port" as when you installed the device originally. I double checked (I have 2 ports one on top of the other on this laptop) and plugged it into the top one (the one I thought I used to install. BINGO, it worked. I've never had a device favor a particular USB port, but oh well.

I solved my problem with reinstallation of the Legacy Drivers.
No pops or Cracks.
It seems to be Ok.
But, VSL downgrade automatically the Aubiobox Firmware ...

I'm having the same problem. I received a replacement audiobox, plugged it in as normal, and when VSL opened, it updated to a new firmware. I noticed straight away that I was getting glitches, the track played slowly and certainly wasn't to do with the asio buffer, as my MAudio played it fine earlier today.
I read about this, and found people had multiple drivers installed, and had success by uninstalling, then installing the drivers.
I've now found myself in this loop of not being able to install a driver. I get to the stage where I'm being asked to plug in the Audiobox, and then the installer tells me as above, that the install has quit.
I've tried everything that has been suggested, several times now. Its almost like the box doesn't want to talk via usb properly.
The light that is normally blue is red on the front. Is this a sign of something?

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with an AudioBox 44VSL.
The install program is asking for connecting the AudioBox.
I plugged it in the USB port of my laptop and I checked power is on.
Nothing is detected and the front LED remains red.

Nobody knows how to solve this?
Apparently it's not a hardware problem with the AudioBox, if I well understood.
