i just noticed that when editing 1 event, i can see and edit all other events in the same place, like all the midi is universal. i see all the differnt note colors on the same clip.a feature i was really excited for in bitwig... now in s1!

Yeah that was new in 2.0 if I remember correctly. Also, you can use the track list for the midi editor and lock any of the instruments you don't want to edit. It helps against accidentally editing something by mistake.

I was definitely happy about this feature....but I think Cubase 6 had it first before it showed up here...and since Bitwig isn't out yet...that doesn't count

Yes, it came along in 2.0. That was the big feature i'd been waiting for...most of the other new stuff pretty much went by me at the time (except for perhaps melodyne/ARA).

Rather than the way cubase or logic handle multiple midi tracks in the editor, this is a little more similar to how DP did it (and later, PT).
If you use the tracklist, you can turn different tracks off/on or change which track(s) are being viewed or edited, without ever having to close the editor. The beauty is that you never have to select multiple tracks in the arrangement to do so. Any and all midi tracks are available for viewing/editing once the editor's open. Once you've worked that way, anything less is just annoying and clunky
