i havent hit over 30 tracks yet, but i run about 15-20 tracks, mostly plugins, with no problems whatsoever

In Options/Audio Device Setup, is the Internal Block Size locked to the device block size?

What is performance like if with other instruments? What about when not using Duende? Some more info will help sort out what's happening.

Arggh .. please delete this thread- I am a happy customer now.

The bad performance was indeed not caused by Studio One. It was a partly broken Firewire cable. Sometimes it worked sometimes not.

We just noticed that Logic Pro went down to nearly 2 Tracks ...... we checked again all settings plus (!) all digital cables. Holy cow.. the FW cable...

Forgive me please, I am 100 % convinced now , S1 is Pro DAW

Thanx for posting the solution but deleting this thread would be counter productive.....lol

Things like this are nice to see posted because it gives others with similar issues conformation that a hardware problem is always an option. Don't be embarrassed. You may not realize how helpful this might be to someone else.
