Search yielded no results for this.

I tried the Studio One demo and liked it enough to possibly buy it. I am also considering Cubase 5, which is available at $100 less than Studio One with an EDU discount. With all due respect to anyone that views this post, I am not asking for opinions on why I should choose Studio One over C5. I think C5 is awesome, but Studio One is a sexy beast too.

thanks

Hi I am not sure how this all works out cost wise but..I think there is a crossgrade promotion that is still ongoing, it may still work out cheaper to get Studio one.

Not sure if the offer has been extended to August but if the price is low enough for you the offer AFAICT appears to end today.

I've never heard them talk about academic pricing yet, but it would be interesting to find out if they would be willing to offer that. (I'm a public school music educator in my "day job.")

i dont know if this is still relevant, but i sent Rick Naqvi (VP) an email when S1 first launched, and he said he was able to set me up with a supplier who would give me a 10% discount. i didnt go through with the deal, but that still might hold. you should try getting in touch with Presonus directly, as they usually make everything possible happen to help you out.

I suspect an EDU discount is something PreSonus will offer / make official at some point if it is not already official but just not visible on the PreSonus website yet. Seems like a good idea to offer an EDU Price. Some DAW devs already offer something similar IIRC.

Hello dear colleagues..

I am a lecturer at a Munich based multimedia school and long term user of Presonus devices.
For the next semester the board of directors have decided to expand the moving pictures courses called Young Directors Projects. With it comes the need for several audio work stations for post production. Up to now, we used a single Nuendo rig, which is by far not sufficient for the increased amount of VideoClips, in future.

The question is now, what DAWs should we aquire. After looking into Studio one, chances are good that we go this way, but the final decision will be based on the question of budget. An educatonal price offer would be very helpful, here. I hope, Presonus will release such an offer, soon...

Regards, Digast
