Well I have been working with this guy here by me on his studio and we were fighting with another DAW and it's associated hardware. After a few weeks he was ready to go back to his hardware recorder because it was really getting silly. The latest update for this un-named DAW was a witch (with a B) and going back to the older version wasn't much better.
So, I talked him into buying Studio One Pro (with the money he had after selling the other DAW to his friend (nice guy...lol) and I told him if he didn't like it, I would buy it back from him. He had nothing to lose now.
Well, as you might imagine, after not hearing from for a 2 weeks after setting S1 up with his RME, he just called me and was floored at how far he'd come in just these few weeks. He watched all of Gigazaga, Motoko, and my videos (he started with the presonus batch first) and he is extremely happy and he sent me his first rough mix. It's simply stellar and sounds just like Paul McCartney!
I'm trying to get him to sign up here but he's not much into forums. We'll see. I'll provide a link when he's got something done.
Just wanted to forward along a message from him to the developers -
"You guys have completely out done yourselves on designing and implementing a DAW that is so easy to use and learn. Despite a few missing features I'm used to in "Xxxxxx" I have never gotten so much work done in so little time. Thanx a TON and keep up the good work!"

Yeah, nice story! I'm really curious about his stuff!
And you are sure your friend's name isn't Paul McCartney...?

Very much so. He's really come a long way in the last 2 weeks. Just today I sent him the Midi-OX and LoopBe1 apps so he could do multiple midi ins at once.
What he really seems to like is the Tuning on the fly. Sometimes he like to test songs in different keys just to see if its easier to sing. So we should be hearing some stuff from him soon.
Thanx again.

That is a nice story themuzic. Always good to read stuff like that. That is the thing about S1. If you can get people to spend enough time on it they will very likely be impressed with the work flow on offer. The user support all round is also excellent as the top class user videos clearly illustrate.
