Has anyone else noticed a delay when triggering MIDI?
I've disabled virtual ports but everytime i play the piano either in Kontakt or Ivory II, the MIDI notes are always later than when i played them Almost like latency.

I have an RME FF400 set to 128 samples and when i play the keyboard, the instruments trigger perfectly in time. Its only when i record that the notes are always way out by a good 16th.
Auto quantise isnt on as i dont know how to turn it on

This doesn't happen in Cubase 6 nor fruity 10.

Any thoughts on what could be doing it?

thx peeps

Yes, I had something similar once with S1.

For some reason, after installing something or updating something, [sorry, can't quite remember as it was quite a while ago now], I ended up eventually checking the settings in the Universal Control setup, only to find that the setting had jumped from '512' samples all the way up to '4096'!

My eyes just about jumped right out of their sockets.

I couldn't figure out why for the life of me, but that's what happened and that was the easy fix - to just set it back to '512' or which ever one you wish to use.

Hope that helps,

James

hi
thax for the reply.

Unfortunately it has nothing to do with that.
The RME is set to very low latency.

How can i explain it better.

If i create an instrument track with say mojito.
I also create an audio track set to record.
If i put the click track on and record what i play both on the instrument track as MIDI and also as audio, the MIDI is alway delayed and out of time (as if my playing was really bad which it isn't).

Its really frustrating. I'm finding i'm recording my MIDI playing in Cuabse and then saving the midi part and then opening S1V2 and importing into that.

I'll do a youtube video tonight and raise a job ticket i think

OS is in the sig.

Using win 7 x64 sp1

rme ff400 for audio and MIDI.

Issue is only with s1.
I can't recreate the problem in cubase or fruity.

Sorry that wasn't it that I suggested.

So I'm out - but I don't think I've ever seen one of the DAW developers themselves chime in personally to help out.

Hopefully he'll come back with some answers for you.

Have you tried running your device using 'legacy midi' setting?
Also make sure 'ignore midi timestamps' is selected ( it is by default but check it anyway).
