Hi Guys,
Here is a live performance from me and my church band at a Festival called Kieler Woche in nord germany, back in summer 2010.
I forgot to play the bridge there, silly me, but now with Studio One -thanks to its simplicity- i was able to add the bridge, to overdub my poorly performed vocal, and to remix the whole song.

It's a quite long song, i'm considering to cut it again and make it a minute shorter or so, but for this moment i'm quite happy with it.
I'll be glad if any of you drop some comment, and tips regarding mixing, or just about anything.

Compare it with the original performance: (beware of my awful singing, it could hurt your ears )

It is way toooooooooooooooooooooo long

I kind hoped overtakes sound like they were recorded as original. Now I got feeling like they were "glued" over original. But it maybe just me & my MBP onboards.

Besides that lenght I´d say it´s good piece of work.

Yes, yes, i know i know. It's so long it actually kills you before it comes to an end. I will definitely cut a refrain or two.
And the added bridge also still has an obvious transfer, mainly because of the resampled drums. But I'm still at it.
I posted it already just to show how grateful i am to be able to do all this because of the simplicity of S1. I was too dumb to do such things with other DAWs.

Now in order to cut it down, i need to know how to delete some bars or seconds with all of its contents, including the automation curves.
I mean like, for example if i delete bar 3-6 i want that bar 7 with everything on it comes forward to bar 3. I remember somebody asked this already, but i haven't made it yet.
I'll probably ask this in the general section, in case you don't know.

edit: never mind, found it! Yeah search function is your friend. For the others: highlight a range with range tool, then select 'delete time' via edit menu. I love S1!

Oh, thank you for listening!

Yeah it's long. But good job. It will get better as you learn S1 even more. Thank you for posting.

Funny, i just uploaded a new cut down version a minute ago. It's under 7:00 now, I mixed the strings a bit better and i worked on the lead vocal as well. Take a look.
Thanks alot for listening!

Well, it reminds me of Till Lindemann on Rosenrot. Depending on where you stand that could be good or bad. I was just glad it didn't sound like Hillsong - too many of their clones around already.

I think for a reworked live mix it sounds pretty good. I really like your voice and anything sounds cool when sung in German so that's a bonus!

I'm pretty sure I heard some minor pops and artifacts but that's easily fixed.

Good job.

Yeah, i also always prevent myself to sound like Hillsong. But nobody has ever compared me before with Rammstein. I don't even know what to say.
OT, i once worked as a backstage worker in a Rammstein concert, that dude was one heck of a beast, i can tell you that, and the show was also gigantic. Almost lost my hearing because of the explosions.

At 3.01 you can hear one of the artifact, caused by my cheap china t.bone mic. But I'll get a much better mic from Oktavamod next week. I'm very excited now! Once i get it, I'll probably replace all of my voice tracks, if i have the time.

BTW, thanks for listening and for your kind words, i also listened to your latest tracks. Always inspiring.

Thanks for your kind words!

I'm sure there are tools to do it automatically, but if for some reason I can't retrack a clip, I manually remove the noise by zooming in very, very close on the waveform and notching the volume down at that point so the click is no longer audible. Sometimes I make a V shaped notch, other times it requires a U shaped notch. I pull it down just far enough so as to even the volume of the pop with the sound either side. If it's done well you can rarely hear there was a problem when the track is soloed and it sounds completely natural in the context of the whole mix.
