how do you hook up digimax fs to digi 002 to use it at 88.2k?

hi need a diagram or a step by step account of how to hook digimax fs to digi 002 so i can record at 88.2k. i need it explained literally step by step from input to output etc. thanks

You should be able to simply connect the ADAT out of the FS to the ADAT in on the 002. And the opposite for the other ADAT cable.

I see but do I come from the out of the digi002 to the 1–4 or 5–8 side of digimax fs smux input?

If I remember correctly the connections don't change. The system will shut off the even numbered inputs.

can u tell me why? my record is cut in nashville at 88.2k and i need to do overdubs so if i understand right i cant overdub at 48k and import it to an 88.2k session?

It is the nature of ADAT. S/MUX does that. Nearly all of them are that way. Too much bandwidth for ADAT. Anything over 48k usually is that way.

Advantages of 88.2k vs 48?

If I understood Bob Tudor recently, lower latency is possible at higher sample rates (aside from normal benefits of a higher sample rate).

For what your dealing with I'd stick with the 88.2. Reason is the math doesn't add up right. You'll likely wind up with some dithering when you try to line everything back up.

I assume your final project will be CD and that's 44.1. No problems there either starting at 88.2.
