I hope this works, this is my first upload to soundcloud ever. It's a praise song which i wrote, and it's a little bit funky and groovy.
I made this track 100% ITB in Studio One using Addictive Drums, Scarbee Bass, Rhodes, VB3, and truepiano. It still lacks a guitar, cause i just can't really play a guitar, and i haven't found anybody who wants to colaborate around here.
And i just bought the Artsacoustic CL Series as my Compressor, which i really dig and used all over the place.
I am not really satisfied with my vox, because mainly i think i'm not a great singer. But i tried quite hard.

So, it would be very cool if you guys take a listen, and please listen till the end, because in the end it gets bit more intense.
You'll see i'm not a pro whatsoever, and i need alot of advices from you guys, especially in mixing.
So any comment is highly appreciated!

Thanks!

Oh, and if any of you understands german, you can also correct me if i made any grammatical mistake, as i'm not a native german speaker either.

edit: i somehow deleted the first upload. I uploaded it again.
edit2: Melodyne did something weird with the vox in the middle of the song, fixed and reuploaded.

Pretty cool.

Can't help with your German much since it's rather hard to understand, sorry.

Actually, I like your voice, though - good job!

Thanks for listening!

You're right, people say that quite often, somebody gotta help me with the articulation, i dont have this problem when i speak though. Obviously its a different thing when you sing.

When you have time, i've just uploaded another one, a very different one. I made it back in the day with Tracktion 3, and remastered it with Studio One.

Thanks!

imho maybe too much singing and too little groove - I should sound relaxed as it´s praise song?

Try to smile while sing - it sounds right away bit different. Vocals are perhaps bit too loud. Hard to tell I´m on my iMac onboards + having fresh flu.

Thank you very much for opinion!
Yeah, you're absolutely right! Maybe i tried too hard. Or maybe the song is just not enjoyable enough.

I uploaded two other songs, i felt more comfortable with them. So check out when you like.

This one is a retro offbeat song, my 2 year old boy loves it. He always jumped around and says 'Dance!! Dance!!' All made ITB with S1V2

This one is the one i made in Tracktion remastered in Studio One. It's an indie rock one. LOL 3 songs with absolutely 3 different styles. I just cannot decide.

Notice that they're all work in progress. I always been too lazy to shape every thing perfectly, i always move along, to capture the next idea.

Thanks!!

Yammy! Where are my shades & hat & suit???

Mee too is shouting DANZEN!

where I can get album?

I might bit scratch that nearly clinical sound. Bit distortion (from Ampire) or slight vocoder just to give song some edge.
Slightly to music and some more for vocals. Bit "old" feeling on it.

On my ears vocals are bit loud. On that rock music sounds like it was coming from different acoustic surroundings than vocals.

I like that sound on vocals. It fits on the overall feeling song has. Also having some decency & balance with music as song goes on. Ending is great!.

Maybe guitar on the right channel should sound like rest of band? Not it feels like stick on note hanging there.

my few cents.

Oh, sorry for giving you the wrong impression. Your articulation is very decent for a non-native. I think it's more because the arrangement is rather busy and dense, and maybe the voice would need a little boost in the broad 2 to 5 kHz area.

Listening to the other ones right now ...

Hey thanks for your positive comments! LOL, An album is like the biggest dream in my life. I hope i can realize it someday. But you see i'm working on it. I have plenty more good songs waiting to be recorded. It's just that i do it only on my free time, alongside with being a student, dayworker, husband and father

And thanks for your constructive critics too, i'll see to implement them. I love getting comments from fellow musicians because its very seldom to get useful hints rather than 'oh, cool, nice, etc'. Btw, i decided to share those songs also on facebook via my wife's account, and i can tell you, Dude i hate that darn 'like' notifications.
Are people got so lazy to throw in one, two words, instead just pushin that button? It has something unhuman to it. Sorry for the OT. Had to say it.

Unfortunately i can't change anything on the rock song. It's one of the projects which folders i lost as my old laptop crashed with Tracktion on it. I didn't make a backup yet That was the time where i said to myself, screw it!, enough with this DAWs, i quit. And i really did for some time. Then along came Studio One v2. O yes, i'm glad it did, since then ive been writing again, it's amazing.
But to re-record the rock song, i just don't have time. It was all made with virtual instruments, i programmed 70% of the drum track, it was so time demanding. Some lines of the text have also been corrected, as we sing it in our church, but i can't re-take it. I guess i just leave it like that, it's good enough for a demo i think.

@Kahlbert,
did you hear them yet? Let me know what you think.
I also checked your work on the Christmas Musical. I think you've made a termendous job. It must have cost you alot of time!
I also played piano last year for a children christmas musical aswell, it was alot of fun! But also exhausting, and how much more did it cost you. Kudos!

Thanks again guys!

Hey, thanks for your kind words! It wasn't my first musical (although types of involvement have changed over the years), and yes, it's fun and hard work at the same time. And very rewarding (in a non-profit way), I'd like to add.

I loved the first of the other ones. Very groovy, and I somehow got the lyrics better, I think.

The last one is a little "intense in a slightly negative sense" for my taste. It's not the actual rock style (I loved Stryper ), though. Hard to describe, actually, but the song is pretty cool all the same.

Reiterating some of what Palaios said, some elements are feeling a bit unconnected. But since it's only work in progress this can be ironed out in the mix.

Keep up the great work for sure!

Oh, and feel free to let me know if you need some collab/mix/mastering support for your upcoming ( ) album. I love to have the chance to work on Christian music from time to time. Helps me keeping the focus, you know.

I´ll be waiting for album then.

Some time ago I decided to focus as much as possible only to christian music. Too bad customers I´ve found willing to pay tend to think that work for God should be done for free. Or at minimal fees anyhow. It works to the point bills are piled up agaists my home door untill it´s jammed.

Tell me about it ...

I for one will pay for a service even more happily if it comes with the work ethos that Christians should have.

ok where can I sign?

I´m about to go record set of biblelectures, just and just got trip & bed & food payed and settled as my "salary". Some 55km from here and all work done inside, auditorium, & place itself is hotel so food & bed should be good enough.

"Gospel should be free" claimed this customer. And then said I can freely sell those recordings. Whatever pize I decide to sell them.

Am I missing something here?
