I think the issue is that Presonus specifically asked for images to not be posted.

Yeah, this is the point around all this discussion going on... Unless the guy is some partner of PreSonus. Anyway, we will get some response from PreSonus guys about this asap...

I think it's more the fact that once a dweeb like you posts something, it's out in the world... nothing can be done about it now. Hundreds of people have already downloaded what you found. No use in the company then further complicating things by getting all irritated at you in public.
They know the users will do that on their behalf. Most uncool of you chap, most uncool. Not really a question of legalities... it's just a bit of an arse move. Kids today... what happened to respect!?!
But secretly, I bet you love that I posted that for a sneak preview. Also, no reason for name calling, however disrespectful you think it might be.

It is. It's not a huge deal (agree) but it's also disrespectful (agree).
The info is the info. If you stumble on it, you have it, cool, rejoice that you've seen something that relatively few others have yet and keep it to yourself. I mean, if you find naked pics of my wife on my server that I forgot to protect you may go yank one off (your business really ) but you probably shouldn't post them Gearslutz... or pass around the link to the net in general.
So... I agree, and I agree again.
Anyway, not ragging on Toth at all. I do maybe think (now?) applying to beta test v3 might be a wasted email message though.

Well Skip, I agree that none of us would do it but Presonus really should have secured that FTP. Folks are really excited about all this and I totally understand why he posted it. I didn't say I agreed with it, I said I understand it.
Absolutely! Presonus has caused two of the leaks themselves. Allowing Guitar Center to sell it ahead of time certainly doesn't help matters. They're lucky someone who 's already purchased it from GC hasn't put a review up on Youtube!

Maybe I'm being the "Skip Grump" here, but when a software developer, who knows that his efforts have leaked, asks to please not post screen shots and someone does anyway, it just raises my fur. Sure everyone is excited about a release that came honestly before we thought, but, decorum for God's sake.
Maybe I'm just grumpy....

The box art in the sales pack is lovely. Really well designed.
Don't worry Skip, in a couple of days once everything is released people will forget about this and there will be harmony in the Presonus land once again.
