Go to their web site shop.

Install went as expected.

Click on Studio One timeline now moves the cursor in the Melodyne editor. Previously only clicking on the Melodyne editors would move both cursor. Now it is bi-directional. Big help for vocal alignments.

I quick peek at new features:
New timing tool allows for adjusting attack and setting timing points within a note to move for example the timing of the syllables within a word.
Scales galore (from all over the world) audition each and every scales
Rewire is supported for 64 bit
Notion view show Treble and Bass clef
Undo /Redo removed from editor (since it was redundant with the host)
New note scale backgrounds (example center of pitch)
Some look adjustments
Select snap to scale from Macro pitch corrector
Improved scale detection
Improved polyphonic note separation
That’s it for now more in my videos come soon…

Yep
There is a issue in editing notes’ with new timing handles within the polyphonic mode but the error seem to be background thing and operation continues on. I will look into it more tomorrow.

Two questions:

1. Can you update by just clicking through a tab on the Melodyne version we have?: and
2. Has the Melodyne/ Amplitube outdated Intel library issue been resolved?

1) I can't tell now because I have already installed. The button just takes you to their web shop anyway.
2) I don’t know because I do not have/use IK Amplitude ( so I did not have the issue)

They have not officially announced the release yet on their web site so detailed documentations is missing at this point.
The Manuals (PDF web based) are not up to date yet.

When, the window popped up, it says you need the latest i-lock to download it.Yuck Too late tonight to deal with the seemingly never ending download minefields we must cross. I don't dispute their right to control their intellectual property, but why can't all these guys work out a simple uniform system that is not a pain in the behind.

you don't need the ilok. it's optional....they're just saying to make sure you have the latest software should you use the ilok.
mine works in s1 pro just fine without.

if you don't have an ilok, i think you need to be connected to the internet, though.
when you first run the plugin, it'll present the ilok warning window, and then a window with an authorize button. Hit the authorize button, and you're good to go. That's how the old version worked too, iirc.

I also had to go to the ilok website and download the V2 licence onto my physical ilok stick.

First impressions of Melodyne 2 are favourable. Love the synced cursor. Much-improved little detail. Also Cntl-z will undo, nice too.

What's this business with iLok? It says something about iLok now that I'm trying to download it.

If I don't have iLok will it work like the old version of Melodyne sans iLock?

Celemony has always (I think) given you two options of licensing. Either use the software based licensing and enable max 2 machines, or move the license to iLok to enable with iLok. It's your choice. If you are using iLok, make sure you use the latest drivers from pace.com or ilok.com.

Updating / upgrading Melodyne runs basically independent of Studio One as ARA support is build-in from version 1.3.0. and up. You'll need S1 v2 to actually use it. But both products are standalone versions.

Kell is definitely right. That message only applies to those who have and use ilock. I just downloaded my free upgrade to Editor 2 (previously had upgraded to Editor 1.3) and its up and running---without ilock.
