One big happy fruit basket, eh??

No I'm not a freaking pilot!! The Air Force won't let me have a suit with a zipper...or sometimes shoestrings.

My advice and suggestions should never be considered advice or suggestions. These are mostly insane ramblings of a poor aircraft mechanic who can, strangely enough, still hear.

Hi,
I have the same exact problem. There is a thread on the apple support forum with lot of people experiencing the same issue:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/23478175#23478175

Mac mini 2013, OSX 10.9.2, updated from Mountain Lion (fresh install and restore from timecapsule)
Presonus Firestudio Mobile with latest drivers 1.7.2

it seems that Focusrite issued a new driver that fixes the problem.
I wonder if this is something all Presonus should look into.

Metric halo have also issued a fix.
According to focusrite the issue is with Mavericks
Power management.
" Apple made changes to power management in Mavericks to reduce power consumption. One of these changes was increasing the buffer size when latency isn't critical (e.g. QuickTime). To accommodate this larger buffer size, small changes to the driver were required to allocate more memory. This has now been resolved in our latest release and it is something that we will test for in future releases.

Best regards,

Neil Marron

I'm having this problem as well right now. All sound that depend on QT (Which means some random system/browser sound as well) is badly mangled. Logic pro X, iTunes and most of all other apps and games has flawless sound. Hoping they will fix it soon, because it grates ones ears if one happen to leave the sound level high and a sudden system sound comes on.

Some system sounds seems to work fine while i'm running Logic at the same time.

Is there any fix coming? I have just about tried everything there is to get it to stop warbling. It's only in quicktime as far as i can see.

Nope, I always install OS updates as soon as they become available and I'm still having this problem. But only in QuickTime Player, for some reason.
