I really like mine. It may not be perfect, but it is very very useful. Not sure how i lived without it, tbh.

it may be nice if you are always sitting at the controls... but for us do it all and record... we only have so many hands. also... my mouse is capable of macros and has multiple buttons to assign. i also have a belkin nostromo n52te controller that is programmable in three layers. and finally i have a razer deathstalker keyboard that can be linked to programs as S1.exe so when i start the DAW all keybinds load up automatically.

again ALL these devices can be programmed with macros and scripts... that's mouse, keyboard and HID device... what is that? a million and one buttons?

i myself... since i do all the playing and recording myself... i only have two hands and i can't afford $129 on something that looks nice. the ONLY thing it has going for it that i can't do is the motorized slider. i can do the slider stuff with the wheel of the mouse and have automation do the rest. as for the rest... the hardest part is WHERE to assign what! i have more controls than i can use already. but hey... i ain't professional and do it out of fun since i am disabled. what do i know? cheers...

and btw ... the reason i have all these devices is from PC gaming. they are designed for gaming in mind... but function the same in Outlook, Diablo III or Studio One. jus' sayin' i can't vote either way... if you want it great... if you NEED it... even better! it's up to you...

Oh, I pamper myself FAR more than I actually make music

I'm leaning towards it. It's not 99, it's 129 - 15% but plus tax (I live in cali)

If it was 99, I'd get it for sure

This still stands for me. If it was on sale, I'd jump on it. I have a thing in my behind about feeling I need to get it at 99.

I know, picky picky......

Also, what I'm worried about is with the funky issues with solo/mute not always working exactly as expected, I wonder if I wouldn't get lost.

And also again, I wonder if it would always highlight the next track. If I've gotta mouse around a bunch, it won't really make me happy.

Get it.
Using the long throw motorized fader for mix automation is really great when you need to ride vocals, bass, leads, etc. I also love the footswitch punch in/out while I am playing guitar. I bought a used one over a year ago.

I use my mouse and keyboard for almost everything, but the footswitch was a BIG factor. That and the ability to write automation "old school" using a physical fader. Also, I like the FaderPort when I'm trying to nail a tough mix with my eyes closed...

I like that I can turn off the motorized fader when doing the fading and turn it back on when done. I also like that footswitch ability and use it when recording my guitar. the bank possibility makes it easy to change channels in bigger mixes. Mute/Solo works as expected ?
Never had an issue with that particular. Also like Output button when doing a mix/master (I know mix first, master second )
Sometimes I do both on my own stuff ....

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the ability to re-assign buttons to customize your workflow.

My "Proj" button is now "Edit"
My "Trns" button is now "Browse"
And best of all, my "Next" button is a one click "Return to Zero".

Pan button is a known issue but I NEVER use the Faderport to adjust pan. I accomplish that elsewhere in the mix.

Comes in handy as a remote transport when I am at the keyboards.

Love mine. Does a lot, very compact. I've tried using larger control surfaces, but I always wind up going back to the faderport because it takes up so little space, and I don't really need to control a lot of tracks simultaneously.
