Everything's working perfect for me, i have a new 2012 macbook pro 2.7quadcore and I use ableton with a rode nt1a mic i just bought, latency isn't noticable and the only clicks i got while recording were from clipping because the singing was too loud and i forgot to adjust the input knob. i've never owned a soundcard before but i am definitely satisfied with the performance and will be buying more presonus products in the future!

The Beta seems to be working great for me except an issue I had that existed prior and still exists which Tech Support is looking at for me. So seems good as far as I can tell..

Forgot to add that I don't at the moment use ADAT S/MUX-clocked audio streams so cant comment on that.. Hope however if it is an issue that it gets fixed as I am close to needing that functionality.

No I'm not a freaking pilot!! The Air Force won't let me have a suit with a zipper...or sometimes shoestrings.
My advice and suggestions should never be considered advice or suggestions. These are mostly insane ramblings of a poor aircraft mechanic who can, strangely enough, still hear.

Clicks and crackle went away first when I changed setting to "Normal" then reappeared and then I had to switch to "Safe" and clicks appeared on some recordings. Strange thing is - I don't hear clicks while monitoring live but only when recording is played back. Buffer settings are anywhere from 64 to 2048 samples. I have current mac mini and ML. 1818 vsl as a master via word clock to Digimax D8... It looks like bunch of people having clicks on previous OS X too. Too bad probably sending 1818 back to the store...
Hi!!
I have:
OSX 10.8 VERSION
MAC BOOK PRO DECEMBER 2011
PROCESSOR: 2.4 GHZ INTEL CORE I5
INPUT USB 2.0
DAW LOGIC PRO 9.1.7
I'm going to tell you my problem.
If I open Logic in 32 BIT mode and I record I can hear random pops and clicks. Even if I'm not recording, in the Logic arrange, in the armed tracks, the progress bar makes me notice that there are some noises. If I open Logic in 64 BIT mode i don't notice any random pops or clicks.
I've got many plug-in that work only in 32 BIT mode, so I would like to solve this problem.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards
Just did more testing. Recording 2 tracks with some ~20 tracks playing from stock internal HDD. If I've the buffer setting to anywhere other then 2048 samples I get clicks bad. Even at 2048 I get a few over 7 min song. It feels like it goes away almost completely if I have drivers on "safe" mode. I also tried USB2 hub with same result. On the other hand I experience absolutely clean recording with FS Project at 32 Samples and drivers to set "low latency". Cpu meter is about 30% but it still works (I have several compressors and a limiter on various tracks at that) all tests done at 41k 32bit files and 64bit audio processing in S1 2 Pro. Oh well.
i use MAC PRO 3.1 and still not working.... To be honest since 10.8 is official release i cannot understand there is no driver available.
Beta Driver still not work at all on my MAC PRO.
This mean i have to buy anithing else to make my NI Machine working and sell my AufioBox 44VSL

I don't think sending the 1818VSL back to the store will help. I went back and tested with several new 1818VSL:s but no difference. You could try but I don't think it will solv your problem.
Thanks J. It actually did help. What I meant was getting a different interface. I was considering going to Studiolive 16.4.2 (which I used to have) or even 24, but RME UFX with Octapre Dynamic is arriving tomorrow from Sweetwater.
Thanks
Alex

So Im still getting those clicks and pops when playing back my audio... Ive tried everything... updated my firmware, drives and nothing seems to make it stop. Everything sounds great when I'm monitoring but when I play back recorded audio it is filled with those clicks and pops. What should I do? I dont want to sell it ,but i might have to.
I am currently using a 2011 27" iMac and a 2012 Macbook Pro
I've had a chance to use the beta drivers under OSX10.8 a few times now, and here are the issues I've experienced using the AB1818 for live sound. I have not toyed with the recording side yet.
3 times (twice during rehearsal, once while attempting to connect the iPad Remote via venues wifi) the AB completely froze up. It appeared to be the drivers, as the screen and meter's were frozen. Restarting VSL did not fix this...I had to turn the AB off and back on (and deal with turning off all the PA, monitors, etc..prior...that was the only big pain )
During 2 live shows, without the iPad app, it seemed to perform fine. These weren't important shows (I know, ALL shows are important, right!) and the AB was just being used for the horn section, so everyone knew there MIGHT be issues with the AB. But it held steady.
So the two lockups were random? I am certain the third had to do with the iPad remote app.
I still get random clicks/pops if I don't toy with the buffer settings (safe/normal/fastest). The funny thing is, there is not a certain setting that works, what works is simply CHANGING them. When I alter the setting, the AB1818 seems to "wakeup" for a bit. If the clicks come back, I can change it again (doesn't matter what setting) and they disappear again. Strange.
If it's important, I'm running a MBP late 2011 with max Ram (16GB), under 10.8. I'm not running a DAW for live (yet)...just straight thru VSL.
VSL to Berh FD (Feedback Destroyer) to Sonic Max 482(?) out to Mains. Monitors on 3/4 and 5/6. Fat channels used for 4 horns, little reverb. That's it!
Alright. I was having problems with my set up. Im running a new Macbook Pro, 4GB, i7, Mountain Lion. Mbox 2 mini, and S1.
My problems arose when I would be making a track, after a few minutes the audio would start crackling and distorting. The only remedy I could come up with was to either keep switching the buffer size of run S1 through the Mac built in sound card. Long story short.....I wasn't trying to do either of the two. I came to the realization I need a new interface. I went and picked up an AudioBox 22VSL!!! Since my computer is new I didn't have to install anything that came in the box I just downloaded the beta driver off this website and it was up and running in less than 5mins!!!!! NO CRACKS NO DISTORTION!!!!! The sound quality of the AudioBox is Amazing....PreSonus. I Am Pleased.
